Valentine’s Day is a time to show appreciation to the people who believe in your mission and make your work possible. A small, thoughtful gesture can go a long way toward deepening your relationships with donors and volunteers.
Here are 10 easy and meaningful ways to show your donors some love this Valentine’s Day:
Mail a Valentine’s Day card or postcard Make it personal and let them know you were thinking of them this season. A handwritten note always stands out.
Send a personal video message: Record a personalized video message and embed it directly in your email using BombBomb or a similar platform. Make it even more special with a fun Valentine’s Day background (use my free Canva template) and share what they mean to your organization. It doesn't need to be fancy. Authenticity wins.

Drop off a candygram if they are local:
A quick stop at their office or home with a small treat is thoughtful and memorable.
Send a virtual coffee gift card: A simple Starbucks gift card sent digitally is easy and always appreciated. I recently received a coffee from someone via email, and it made my day!
Send warm cookies or treats from a local shop: Something sweet, like Tiff's Treats, is an instant smile maker. Or order some cupcakes from a local bakery!
Write a personalized poem or haiku: This is something they will never forget. It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be heartfelt.
On this special day
We are sending love your way Thanks for all you do!
(side note- I LOVE writing haikus- reach out to me and I will personally write one for you)
Send printable Valentine’s cards they can share: I worked with one of my clients to create printables, and it literally saved one of their donors, who printed it for his wife at the last minute. True story! These are such a hit that I created a Valentine's Day Card Printable you can use in Canva.I
Send an e-card: CardSnacks is a great option for sending e-cards that still feel thoughtful and fun.
Send a simple Happy Valentine’s Day text: A quick message to say thank you and let them know they are appreciated can mean more than you think.
Show them some love on social media: Post a thank-you and tag them when appropriate. Public appreciation helps donors feel seen and valued.
